Ramya was just 12 years old when she lost both of her parents. In the years that followed, she experienced instability, abandonment and deep hardship. Passed between relatives, mistreated and told she would be forced into an early marriage,
Ramya found herself in a hopeless place. But God had more in store for her.

Through the help of local authorities and the staff at our partner's Children’s Home, Ramya was rescued and welcomed in as a transitional child. Within two months, she asked to become a permanent part of the CTL family. There, she found not only protection, but belonging. Encouraged by the ministry leadership and staff, she excelled in her studies and began to grow deeply in her faith, nurtured by daily prayer and the steady love of those around her.
"THE LOVE AND CARE SHOWN MADE ME GROW IN MY SPIRITUAL LIFE"

Today, Ramya is one of the ministry's trusted leaders. After completing her education and gaining work experience, she now oversees the kitchens, helping provide three meals a day to more than 170 children and staff. She is capable, joyful and deeply committed to the children who now look to her as an example. Last year, she married Karthik, another graduate and former resident of the children's home who now serves in ministry leadership.

Their wedding, held at the children's home with the kids gathered as family, was a celebration of redemption and new beginnings. The ministry director, who to them is "dad," walked Ramya down the aisle, and the director's wife, to them, "mom," walked Karthik— a picture of the family God built around them.

Ramya’s journey from hardship to leadership is a powerful testimony of redemption. To hear her share her story in her own words, we invite you to watch the full interview below.
