MOBILE APP PRIVACY POLICY

General Purpose Statement

Children to Love International (“CTL” or “we” or “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of all persons (“user” or “you” or “constituent”) who come in contact with CTL. This Privacy Policy is to inform CTL constituents on how it collects, uses, processes and protects personal information when you use our mobile app (Application). This includes any personal information provided through the app, online, over the phone, or in written form.

 

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS THE APPLICATION.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by updating the “Last updated” date of this Privacy Policy. You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates. You will be deemed to have been made aware of, will be subject to, and will be deemed to have accepted the changes in any revised Privacy Policy by your continued use of the Application after the date such revised Privacy Policy is posted.

 

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the third-party online/mobile store from which you install the Application or make payments, including any in-app virtual items, which may also collect and use data about you. We are not responsible for any of the data collected by any such third party.

 

Collection, Use and Disclosure of Personal Information

Personal Information We Collect

If a person provides information to CTL on any of its forms and/or documents that identifies the person, it is considered personal information. CTL may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal information. The personal information collected by CTL includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Identity information, such as name, date of birth, age, gender, citizenship;

  2. Contact information, such as mailing/physical addresses, email addresses, phone numbers;

  3. Financial information, such as gift amounts (for donors) and records of financial transactions including details of payments and donations. CTL does not store credit card numbers or any other account numbers on the app. 

How We Collect Personal Information

CTL uses different methods to collect personal information from and about its users, who must be at least 13 years of age. Persons may provide identity, photos or contact information by filling out a form in the app or corresponding with CTL via postal mail, phone, email or other forms of communication. This includes, but is not limited to, the personal information of constituents provided to CTL when:

  • Creating an account through CTL’s website (such as a child sponsorship account);

  • Following a link in the app to a social network post, website or request for technical assistance;

  • Making a financial contribution to sponsor a child through CTL by phone, check, credit card, or online (before using the app to access a CTL sponsor record, sponsors must have made a financial contribution outside of the mobile app);

  • Registering for a CTL event (such as a fundraising dinner).

 

How We Use Personal Information

CTL will generally collect and use personal information when it is necessary to achieve the organization’s purposes, such as (but not limited to):

  • To maintain contact with individuals;

  • To allow persons to register for and attend a CTL event;

  • To follow up with individuals requesting assistance with the app;

  • To provide electronic and/or all other communications (electronic and/or physical) to constituents;

  • To allow access to the user’s CTL child sponsorship account;

 

How and When We Disclose Personal Information

Generally, CTL will not disclose or share personal information with anyone outside the organization. However, CTL may need to use or share a person’s information with its partners (including CTL overseas ministry partners), and to CTL’s constituents/employees/volunteers on the organization’s behalf. Individuals’ information may be disclosed to public regulatory authorities (when required) and third-party service providers.

 

CTL’s third-party service providers include (but are not limited to) cloud service providers for the hosting of apps and sites, direct and email communication service providers and mobile app developers (such as Cambria Software Corporation, developers of the custom application software).

 

Consent

When a person provides personal information to CTL he/she agrees that CTL may use the information for its purposes. However, any individual may contact CTL at any time by phone, mail or email to request that CTL cease communications by any or all means. They may also request that we delete their sponsorship account (see the section below entitled “Deletion of Personal Information”).

 

Individuals’ Rights of Personal Information and Deleting your Data

In order to access, correct, update, withdraw or delete personal information, CTL may need to obtain specific identifying information from the requestor to help confirm the individual’s identity and ensure that personal information is not disclosed or released to any person who does not have the right to receive it, nor removed from CTL’s records in error.

Correcting, Updating or Withdrawing Personal Information

At any time after submitting personal information to CTL, a person may contact CTL in order to correct, update or withdraw the information at:

Deletion of Personal Information

In some situations, an individual may request that CTL delete his/her personal information that CTL holds, when:

  • It is no longer necessary for CTL to retain an individual’s personal information;

  • The personal information was processed unlawfully;

  • CTL is required to delete personal information in order to comply with its legal obligations.

 

However, in some situations, CTL may not be able to delete certain personal information (such as records of financial transactions) due to the need to satisfy legal, accounting or government reporting requirements.

 

Third-Party Website Links

When using the CTL mobile app, links to external websites may be found. Any usage of the CTL website is secured. However, CTL’s Privacy Policy does not apply to external web sites (such as Vimeo, Facebook, YouTube or Instagram) outside of CTL supervision, but only to CTL’s website. CTL encourages each person visiting external sites to contact those organizations regarding their own privacy policies to determine if and how they obtain and use information from individuals. The CTL mobile app does not pass on any personal user information to external websites, though by visiting these sites users may be passing on personal information (such as location). 

 

Personal Information Security

CTL takes seriously the protection of individuals’ personal information and will never sell nor trade any personal information to outside parties. If you choose to share data about yourself via your profile, sending messages, or other interactive areas of the Application, please be advised that all data you disclose in these areas are subject to examination by our internal staff who process data within the Application. Messages are not made public, but are examined for appropriateness to their intended audiences.

 

CTL does not permit third-party service providers to use CTL constituents’ personal information for their own purposes other than to fulfill the services requested by CTL. Third-party service providers are not permitted to process individuals’ personal information through our mobile app. In addition, CTL will communicate these privacy guidelines to all of its employees and its overseas partners to strictly insure privacy safeguards within the organization.

 

CTL may disclose personal information to fulfill its legal obligations as required by law. CTL may also disclose information if CTL determines that for national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public safety and importance, disclosure is necessary.

 

Geo-Location Information

The CTL mobile app does not access your device’s geo-location service. External sites linked from the app may request access according to their own privacy policies. You may change any access through your mobile device settings.

 

Mobile Device Access

We may request access or permission to certain features from your mobile device, including your mobile device’s photos or videos. If after granting access you wish to change our access or permissions to your media, you may do so in your device’s settings or by deleting the app.

 

Mobile Device Data

Device information such as your mobile device ID number, model, and manufacturer, version of your operating system, country, location and any other data you choose to provide may be used to analyze the CTL mobile app or track the number of downloads from the store providing the app.

 

Push Notifications

We may request to send you push notifications regarding your account or the Application. If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.

 

Future Privacy Policy Changes

CTL reserves the right to make any changes to this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes and/or revisions to CTL’s Privacy Policy will be posted on the CTL website (https://www.childrentolove.org) and may be viewed at any time. Individuals are encouraged to periodically visit CTL’s website to review the most current privacy guidelines.
