Gabi was born and raised in Romania in an unbelieving family that struggled financially, and at the age of six, her family connected with Children to Love. Her mother met Jesus and was baptized, leading the family to live differently. They went to Bible studies, camps, and activities that allowed them to hear the gospel and Gabi gave her life to Jesus when she was 12 years old and was baptized. She was encouraged by the CTL Romania staff in her walk with the Lord and to continue her education. Through the Lord's providence, she came to the States to pursue a degree in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism and recently graduated from The Master's University in May.
"It feels surreal that I have graduated from university! At times, seasons of life can feel unending until they do end.
Education has been my priority for the past sixteen years as I poured hours of work into learning English and performing well in school. Education will continue to be a priority in my life as I am acquainted with its value!
Children to Love has meant a lot to me, as it is through the people at CTL that I came to know the Lord. The CTL Romania staff as well as the staff in Bakersfield have all been part of my life and have seen me grow. They all have contributed to my life, and for that I am thankful.
I have grown in understanding of the Lord and His unchanging character throughout my time at The Master’s University as the Word is being proclaimed in and outside the classrooms. In the trials of life, the Lord drew near and allowed me to taste His goodness, which I can say that it is indeed sweeter than honey. I have learned that God is a Father who protects and provides. He delights in giving good gifts to His children, and those who love Him lack nothing.
Currently, I am pursuing Optional Practical Training (OPT), a program that allows me to work for a year in the States. I am working as an Administrative Assistant for The Master’s Academy International, a ministry that trains Indigenous church leaders to be approved pastors and equip their churches to make disciples.
They say, “it takes a village to raise a child,” but I say, “it takes a village to give a girl from Romania the opportunity to study in the States.” I recognize all the sacrifices people have made to support and love me. I am grateful!"
Enjoy this short greeting from Gabi!
